History

Kithood:
Infernokit and his sibling Lambkit were born to their mother, Begonialeaf, in Windclan. Having been born in the cold of leafbare, the first few months were tough, but no complications hindered his development. Being raised solely by his mother, Infernokit strongly desires Begonialeaf's approval.

Just over three moons later, Dixie and the kittypet gang attack the four clans at the Gathering place. Countless cats are killed by the explosion, and the fire is only quelled by Starclans' mercy with rainfall.

Infernokit is horrified when he overhears what happened at the Gathering place. His mother is furious at the events, which influences his opinions negatively toward outsiders. Infernokit worries about the gang and what might happen if the gang were to try and attack his family.

One moon later, Ottersplash's patrol is attacked by the kittypet gang led by Roman. Ottersplash is spared because of his outsider blood. Windclan cats are uneasy with the presence of rogue-born and kitty pet-borns in their ranks. After being exposed to his mother's grievances against outsiders, Infernokit worries for Lambkit's safety against the outsiders in his clan. Infernokit vows to his mother that he will always look after Lambkit.

Infernokit meets Reclusekit when she is fetching food from the fresh kill pile. Infernokit takes offence that Reclusekit should be taking the best and fattest mouse. He believes that since Reclusekit is half Outsider, she is not worthy of the prey. Only after calling her an outsider does Reclusekit's mother, Widowpaw (Widowbite), step in and order him away.

Apprentice:
At the age of six moons, Infernokit is summoned to celebrate his apprentice ceremony. The ceremony was led by Flamestar, who named him Infernopaw and assigned him the mentor Houndbite. After touching noses with his new mentor, Infernopaw begins the next chapter of his life as an apprentice. Infernopaw is eager to prove himself to both Houndbite and his clan. Houdbite pushes Infernopaw to work hard and improve his instincts.

Word spreads that Snapdragonfrost, Sootbear, and Moorstripe encountered two kittypets on their patrol. They return bloodied from the fight, but what they don't tell anyone is that the kittypets hadn't actually crossed the border. Infernopaw is angry that the kittypets would dare get so close to his clan. He is, however, soothed by the fact that the patrol won the fight and put the kittypets in their place.

One moon later, disaster strikes. At twilight, WindClan is attacked by dogs controlled by the Kittypet Gang. Infernopaw chooses to stay and fight with his mother, Begonialeaf, battling against a medium-sized dog. Infernopaw is unable to land any hits on the dog and ends up being an easy target for the beast. Thankfully, he only got minor wounds from the battle once the dog had been killed. There are too many casualties to name, but Aurorasky, Scorchblaze and Rumbleflight are all killed; Ryekit is torn apart in front of her mother, LeopardshineFlamestar loses a life and is carried while the clan rushes to evacuate to the tunnel system but is met with more dogs. Infernopaw rushes to snatch up Sablekit, a recently born kit to his mentor Houdbite but is unsuccessful at bringing the kit to safety. One dog is able to take advantage of Infernopaws weakened state and knocks the kit from his mouth. Infernopaw makes it to safety with a gash on his leg and is lucky not to receive more serious injuries. In the tunnels, Infernopaw finds his mother and lets her know what happened with Sablekit. She is quick to try and find the kit but is unsuccessful in rescue; she notices that Owlshadow managed to save the kit. There in the tunnels, they must wait the dogs out, hiding beneath the earth until it is safe to return to camp.

A few days later, the dogs leave and it is safe to return to the camp. They are left to bury their dead, triage the wounded and repair their dens and walls. Infernopaw is left to think over the events, while he only got away with a few physical scars; these events will continue to cloud his mind into the far future.
Not long after returning to camp an unusual famine befalls WindClan. Prey is abnormally hard to find... even the elders and kits and nursing caretakers are going to bed with half-full bellies. Patrols return with news of macerated hares and rabbits. The dogs that attacked WindClan must be lingering to starve out the clan. Infernopaw becomes increasingly agitated at outsiders and starvation causes the young tom to become even more aggressive towards outsider blooded Windclanners.
The next couple days brings in a new surprise, a patrol had come across a seemingly friendly outsider, Idalia. This she-cat offers three rabbits and directions to more prey as a show of her good will. Infernopaw disagrees with any help from outsiders but keeps his maw shut because he knows that his clan needs anything to eat at this point. Flamestar decides that the clan will meet Idalia in two days with a large patrol to find the hunting grounds and stock up on food.
Infernopaw joins the large hunting part in hopes to help bring back as much prey as he can. Fortunately Infernopaw managed to down one large rabbit. Infernopaw is glad that his training with his mentor Houndbite is paying off. The elation of bringing home food is quickly snuffed out. The prey had been poisoned, their coats covered with Twoleg poison. Infernopaw had immediately given his prey to another and hadn't consumed much of the poison from carrying the rabbit in his jaws. Fortunately this meant that he avoided the worst of the sickness. However, this just meant that he would have to watch in agony as his mother Begonialeaf is violently ill. Infernopaw is furious with Flamestar for ever trusting an outsider, there should be no excuse to ever believe those lying dirt-faced outsiders after that dog attack.
